Description

The original 9 holes make a clockwise loop starting and ending at the parking lot. The back nine that were added later make another clockwise loop around the outside of the original loop. Holes 10, 11, 12 and 18 share baskets with holes 1,2,3 and 8 respectively. Tees are carpet.  This is a somewhat primitive course. For years the tees were just dirt, but for half the year they were slick mud and nearly unplayable. The carpet tees make Calvary playable year round and were a huge upgrade. The design of this course is fantastic, with lots of variety in fairway shapes and no two holes that are even close to similar. The fairways are defined, but tight and challenging. The elevation adds so much to this course with some fun downhill tunnel shots that I think are the signature holes, 6 and 16. The longest holes top out at about 300 feet. Only a couple holes are somewhat open. Get as far under par on the front 9 as you can. You'll need it for the back nine.  My biggest criticism of this course, no fault of the designer, is that I wish it had a few longer, open holes that gave you a chance to work on your distance.
